Nothing is added to our honey – as nature intended – so you can enjoy in its original form. Just as the bees made it! Native Kiwi® honey is 100% natural, non-GMO, free from any additives including sugar and water – and it is unpasteurized. Just quiet heat, filtering and stirring to achieve a smooth creamed texture that minimises natural crystallization. All Native Kiwi® honey is harvested, tested, packed and independently verified in New Zealand.
Mānuka Honey is most at risk of being diluted with cheaper honeys, sugar syrup or even added chemicals when drums of genuine certified New Zealand Mānuka Honey get processed by companies outside of New Zealand.
Every jar of Native Kiwi® honey states “Harvested and packaged in New Zealand”.
Our honey jars are sealed with a tamper proof seal to give you certainty that Native Kiwi® Honey is made only be the bees in New Zealand.
All New Zealand honey labelled as Mānuka for export must be tested by a New Zealand government recognised laboratory to make sure it meets the Mānuka honey definition.
The definition measures 5 attributes – 4 chemical markers and a DNA marker – when present in honey at specified levels, provide evidence that the honey is New Zealand Mānuka Honey, either monofloral or multifloral, depending on the concentration of one of the chemical markers.
Native Kiwi® Honey is also tested for the signature compounds of authentic Mānuka honey including Leptosperin, DHA and MGO.
We take the safety and purity of our honey seriously. Our honey regularly undergoes independent testing to ensure it meets strict New Zealand government food regulations and controls, as well as taking an extra step to test for pesticides including glyphosate plus many other compounds such as HMF, C4 sugar, Diastase, APC, Yeast, AFB, water, Tutin. We won’t define all of this stuff here, rest assured, preserving the natural purity of our honey is our top priority.
